Yes, I am going to talk about the snow

Tue Feb 3, 2009, 2:05 AM

Everyone's getting completely obsessed with the snow this week - we had quite a lot here in Lincolnshire, and they closed school for 2 days which is GREAT because I can make a sizable dent in the huge pile of drawing that I have to do. But really, a bit of snow and the whole country descends into chaos. I notice that countries like Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Russia, Canada, function continuously despite being covered in much more snow than us for a large part of the year!! Anyways that is all I have to say on the matter as I am tired of hearing about it.

So when I found out school was closed for 2 days my immediate thought was fantastic, now I can do some work!!! Which is a bit sad. But I have had a steady flow of comissions that have kept me working continuously since October, and at the moment I am fully 'booked up' until the end of March. Its great for the money but its a bit boring. I dont want to draw portraits for the rest of my life. So after March I dont think I'll be taking on anything else for a few weeks, to give me chance to catch up on my own stuff, which I am absolutely ITCHING to pick up again. What I want to do when I get chance is experiment with combining two styles Ive been doing for a while now - patterns and photographic drawing. I did very little drawing like that throughout uni, but since Ive left Ive been thinking how silly that was, because thats obviously what I am best at. So I am trying to combine it with other stuff like patterns, to see what happens.

Or at least I will when I have an evening to myself!
